Description
IOGEAR's USB 2.0 automatic printer switch allows two PCs and/or Macs to share one printer or multi-function printer. Simply submit a print job and the printer automatically switches to the preferred computer. The switch also enables two computers to easily share one external hard drive, scanner, or any USB device. I bought this product for the ability to use two computers with one scanner and for the auto-switching feature. I can scan from both computers, but I found out after installing it that the auto-switching feature works only for Administrators. Any tech with half a brain knows not to give regular users administrator access unless necessary.
I think I have a workaround, but for the average consumer in a business environment, search for something better.

No matter how many times I configure the software to not make any sound the device has it's own agenda. It's loud and it didn't work between my W7 and XP computers.
